I have waited for ages to post this!
Work became completely mental the past few weeks with two giant features to finish not even mentioning my column for Left Lion magazine and a few reviews too. I finally feel like I am starting to get on top of the work rather then the work owning me.
I took a day to travel down to London to attend the Cici PR SS19 press day. I love a good press day as I'm incredibly nosey. I just want to see all the new things. While it does feel great to be talking about Spring Summer after such a long miserable January - it still feels weird.
It's incredibly icy out there while I'm standing holding a sports lux swimsuit.
So the press day was held in the Music Room in London which I've been to before. It feels a bit naughty and mysterious to be led down an alleyway and then turn left into a big white space.
The brands on display were incredibly diverse. My strong favourite of the day was Zatchels who displayed the most beautiful rose gold metallic bags. It was hard to pick a favourite as the block colour bags were gorgeous too.
I also got to see the new collection from PJ company, Cyberjammies who provided me with my lovely AW19 PJs at the last event. I instantly felt drawn to a strong green shirt nightie which was incredibly soft and very striking.
I made time to check out the lingerie too with Valentines day coming up! My first with the new girlfriend! To be honest, for someone who worked in lingerie for two years, I never remember to buy it. I seem to exist in the standard lesbian sports bras and Topshop knickers. Studio Pia blew me away. In fact, I am planning on a longer post about their sustainable practises in the future.
I am dedicated to posting and supporting as many sustainable brands as I can! If you followed my stories about my trip then you would have seen the incredible close up of this lace - it's actually a series of hands! I hadn't realised this until it was pointed out to me.
There were a few other brands in attendance as well including Dunelm, 31st state, Audacia London and many more.
I didn't hang around in London as I was shattered. It's a full on day and I had a lot of writing work to do so I bolted back up to Nottingham as quickly as the train would take me. However, I chose to walk from the station to the show and back so I'm pleased with myself for managing the directions so well. Go team!
Also thank you to Cici PR for having me and also for the Candy Kittens and Firefly drinks. Badly needed on the march home. Until next time London.....
