Appalachian Word of the Day

lick - noun - the smallest amount, used in a negative way

This is a common word where I live.  Most usually it is used in the above referenced definition.  As in:  He ain't worth a lick.  That don't make a lick of sense, or,  He ain't hit a  lick all day.

Currently, I fall into this negative reference.  As in:  I ain't worth a lick.

A bit of jet lag has set in and a regular work schedule/softball game schedule is making for busy times.

Pressing on, I am.  The work is getting done and all is well.

. “Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” – Anthony Bourdain
